Lively Liverpool are much sharper than a Dalglish one-liner

dailymail.co.uk

Liverpool won with two beautiful goals and time turned back for those old enough to recall the artistic football of Kenny Dalglish - as opposed to his managerial attributes or his arid one-liners.

‘We played better today than last time we were here,’ said Dalglish.

‘We looked a better team, especially first half. They were better second half, put us under pressure.'

‘We scored twice as many goals as last time. The last game was pretty defensive. This year we stood up against them. We had a disappointing result and performance at Tottenham. We deserved more than what we got at Stoke. But we’ve kept the players going, kept them ticking over.

‘We wanted to win the game and Glen Johnson’s gone up into their box after 87 minutes. A right back! That shows the commitment’ said the manager post-match.

You’ll never walk alone

Hold your head up high
And don’t be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Tho’ your dreams be tossed and blown.
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you’ll never walk alone,
You’ll never, ever walk alone.

Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you’ll never walk alone,
You’ll never, ever walk alone.
