We need home improvement to kneel City

Three home draws in a row have led to groans and Liverpool need to improve to get Anfield rocking again.

"The home form could be better," Kenny Dalglish concedes. "But the performances, apart from in the second half against Sunderland [Liverpool's opening game of the season, which also ended 1-1], have been excellent. It is just a question of putting something on the end of the movement they have had. Some day we will do that."

Adam: I love it here - just hearing the word 'Liverpool' makes me smile

“I wasn’t fearing coming here. I looked at coming to Liverpool as an honour and a privilege to represent this club. It wasn’t a fear,” insisted the Scot.

“If I had any doubts, I could have sat at Blackpool for four or five years.

“I wanted to come here and play at this level. It was a no-brainer. While other clubs are big clubs, Liverpool is one of the biggest clubs in the world."

“Maybe the first couple of weeks you are overawed a little bit with the quality of the players here."

"At the end of the day I had only played in the Premier League for one season and you come up against people like Stevie, Dirk, Luis - established, top-class players.

“Now though, they are team-mates. That is how I look at it."

"There has been a rapid rise in my career since I left Rangers, but I have always aimed for an opportunity to play regularly for a club of this stature, and I want to continue doing that” added Charlie.

Rush: City can't buy a fantastic history or the fans heart

“Manchester City's millions have changed our league," said Rush.

"The more money you have and the higher wages you pay then the better players you'll be able to sign and we've seen that with the likes of Aguero and Silva in particular."

"But no matter how much money clubs spend they don't have our history or the special relationship which exists between our club and its supporters. You can't buy that. Money helps in lots of ways but it's not everything. Chelsea had the same thing when Abramovic went in, he spent a fortune but they still haven't won the Champions League."

"I think what City have done is given themselves a great chance of winning the league because they've had a great start and they have top players. But there's more to football than that. We haven't won the league since 1990 but I travel all over the world and am still taken aback by the scale of the support Liverpool enjoys."

"I think it's because we're a family club. Our anthem is 'You'll Never Walk Alone' and that means something. It's not just empty words. Of course we all want to see success on the pitch, that goes without saying, but there's far more to being a Liverpool supporter than results."

"We're in Dubai at the moment and I've watched lots of games in the bars out here, and it's brilliant how the people over here - and all over the world - look to try and recreate the Anfield atmosphere whenever they get together to watch the matches. This club means so much to so many people and that's why it will always be so special" concluded Rush.

Stick Together Team! says Dalglish

"At the end of the day it is hard for those who don't play," said Dalglish. "It is hard to keep them motivated and keep them going - that is understandable."

"If they come in with really good attitudes and not with petty lips when they are left out, it is helpful to everyone."

"For them to have come in with positive attitudes has shown their determination. It hasn't done anyone any harm."

"If they are not committed to playing, it is not going to be my problem, it is going to be their problem because we will go and get people who are determined to play.

"It's not pleasant but it is understandable that there is disappointment if you are not playing every game. But it is a long season and everyone is going to be given their chance" added the manager.

Dalglish hails Adam's performance against Chelsea

Liverpool boss, Kenny Dalglish, has hailed the performance of the Reds’ influential midfielder, Charlie Adam, in the recent win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

"Charlie played very well but there's nothing he's doing that has surprised us. He won the ball back on many occasions during the game, but that one for the first goal was highlighted more because it resulted in us scoring. His pass for the second goal was sublime as well."

"He was someone we wanted to get in January but it didn't happen. I don't think it's been a bad bit of business. I don't think he will rest on his laurels either. He wants to push onwards and upwards and so do we," Kenny Dalglish concluded.

Wilson is determined to take his chance in Carling Cup

Danny Wilson is hoping he's done enough to earn a starting spot for the Reds against Chelsea in the Carling Cup.

"Chelsea will be an important game," he confirmed. "All I can do is try to impress Kenny Dalglish in training and for the reserves.

"If it is enough, it is enough. If not then I'll just have to try harder.

"It is important for me to get a chance for the reserves. I just need to put a performance in and try to impress, but more importantly it gives me a chance to work on my fitness" added the scot.
